SNPing Home Page

SNPing is a ping like tool for storage networks: specifically, it is designed to work with Fibre Channel, iSCSI and SAS devices.

This project is an open source implementation of the SNPing draft specification of the INCITS T11.5 committee.  It builds upon several other standards and draft standards including:

The goal is for the initial implementation of SNPing to support Windows and Linux.  Support for other platforms such as Solaris, AIX, HP-UX and Mac OS X will hopefully be added later.

The SNPing source code is made available under the Mozilla Public License v1.1.

SNPing was inspired by the fcping program created by Bill Pierce of Teracloud.
